Gary has always been the bloke you could count on — the one who shows up early, works hard, cracks a joke to lighten the mood, and leaves every job site better than he found it. Over the last 3 years with Halo Civil and in the construction industry, he’s earned the respect of everyone he’s worked alongside. No matter the site, Gary built not just structures, but real, beautiful relationships with his co-workers. He’s the guy who’d lend a hand without being asked, share a yarn over smoko, and make sure the Team felt like family. That quiet strength and kindness? It’s who Gary is.

Recently, the news hit like a ton of bricks: Gary has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It’s come on fast, and it’s heartbreaking for all of us who know him. One minute he’s out on site, sleeves rolled up, doing what he loves; the next, he’s facing this battle with courage we all admire.

Gary is married to his wonderful wife Kate, and together they have two beautiful daughters who mean the world to him. He’s always put his family first, providing for them, being there for the big moments and the everyday ones. Now, with Gary unable to work and medical needs ramping up, the financial pressure on Kate and the girls is immense. Ongoing medical costs are mounting quickly. On top of that, everyday living expenses — groceries, bills, school needs, keeping the household running — feel overwhelming when the focus should be on time together, making memories, and keeping things as normal as possible for the family.

We’re starting this fundraiser because Gary has given so much to so many. He’s never been one to ask for help, but right now, he and his family need us. Every dollar donated will go straight to supporting Gary, Kate, and the girls:
