Help Garvin Hang On

Donation protected
For over 15 years, Garvin Greaves has been my trusted, caring, expert hairstylist. I'm a very demanding client, but he never fails to provide patient, outstanding service that has kept me - and many others - coming back all these years...until now.

Garvin has served the community of Prospect Heights Brooklyn for 25 years as the hard-working owner of several hair salons - most recently the Wayne Agassi Aveda Salon on Flatbush at 7th Ave. But because of COVID-19 restrictions, Garvin and his salon are now facing dire circumstances.

It breaks my heart to see someone who has worked so hard for so long, struggle now, unable to make ends meet for his 3 employees and his own family.

Sadly, like so many others, Garvin has exhausted his credit and he has applied multiple times for government funds. He just received a minimal grant and is in discussion now for more funds, but all of that will be in loans that cannot be paid back unless something changes.

Unlike restaurants, personal service industries have been shut down completely. And even though business will likely boom whenever restrictions are lifted, that will only be a one-time boost that will come too late to help. The salon business only stays afloat because of repeat customers coming in at regular times - and that has stopped, with no end currently in sight. Without our help, there is no way to cover the Salon's costs during this period of NO INCOME.  Garvin needs our help to hang on.

$63,000 will keep Garvin's salon afloat for 3 months and enable him to provide nominal salaries for his 3 employees and himself. One of his biggest ongoing expenses is the Salon's incredibly high NYC rent - although evictions have been put on hold during the lockdown, rent payments have not. At this point, if businesses do not pay back rent by the time the lockdown ends, landlords will have the right to evict them. If the salon is to survive this Crisis, he will need to cover rent, salaries and loan repayments.

So, if you are financially able and you are interested in making a real difference in this awful pandemic, please support a long-standing, dedicated small business so that it will still be here for our hard-hit NYC community when this subsides.

PLEASE...

1) Make a donation here - no amount is too small - every dollar will make an important difference.

AND

2) Encourage all your followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and wherever you post, to make a difference too.

THANK YOU and God bless you. Please stay safe and well - Garvin wants to see you on the other side of this crisis so that he can thank you personally.
