Help Garthon Survive Cancer

My name is Brigitte Espinet, and I am raising funds for a dear family friend, Garthon Frederick, who now lives in the Philippines. He was recently diagnosed with liver cancer, which has spread. And while he and his doctors are determining what the next best steps are for his treatment, he is struggling with figuring out how to cover his daily living expenses, as he is unable to work at this time. His medical bills are piling up, and at the same time, he still needs to pay for food, rent, and utilities. His hardship is compounded by the fact that, as a Tobagonian working in the Philippines, he is geographically separated from all his family, so their support in the Philippines is absent.

Since GoFundMe does not operate within the Philippines, I am managing this campaign on Garthon’s behalf. All funds will be deposited to my account here in Atlanta, GA, and I will then transfer donations directly to Garthon via Xoom, which I’ve previously had success with in transferring funds to him in an expeditious manner.

We are asking for US$25,000 to help cover hospital bills, medicines, and living costs for the next few months.
