My name is Garrett and I'm a 27 year old transmasculine nonbinary person. The stars have finally aligned and I'm in the process of getting a top surgery consultation. I had a medical emergency in late March and hit my insurance out-of-pocket max for the year. Now is the only time I think I'll ever be able to afford top surgery. This procedure would cost me nothing and totally change my life. It would defeat the final boss of my dysphoria, relieve my horrible back pain and posture issues, and make me feel safer to leave the house.

I live in a red state and I'm unable to bind due to medical issues. I'm easy to clock due to the size of my chest and apparently a bearded dude with honkers is just a siren call for public harassment. I don't like spending time in crowds or lines where people can look at me too closely. After top surgery, I would finally feel safe to be myself in public again.

While the surgery won't cost me anything, the 6-8 weeks of healing time definitely will. I'm living paycheck to paycheck right now and need assistance saving up to cover expenses while I take time off work to heal. This money would cover things like postoperative care products, rent, bills, food, and gas to get to my followup appointments.
