Help Garnet Squadron Robotics go to World Championships
Donation protected
We are First Tech Challenge team 11444 Garnet Squadron. We are a community robotics education team based in Columbia, South Carolina. We teach highschool students skills such as mechanical design, programming, engineering, math, and physics. Currently, we have 10 highschool students. Our mentors are UofSC college students studying STEM disciplines. We won the South Carolina State Championship event in February, and now need funding to pay for our trip to the FIRST World Championship Event in Houston, Texas that is April 15-19. Most teams only recruit students from their schools, and therefore have Worlds paid for by their school. We are a community team who serves all students in the South Carolina Midlands area, and thus have no school or partner to provide the funds needed for worlds. We anticipate needing a minimum of:
1250 dollars for new tools and parts for our robots.
1200 dollars to pay for hotels for 4 mentors.
1500 dollars to pay for 4 mentors’ flights to Houston.
10,000 dollars to pay for flights and hotels for highschool students.
We have been operating continuously since 2011. Any excess funds will go towards next year’s registration and parts expenses. Thank you so much for your support! YOU are the reason this once in a lifetime trip is possible for our students.
