It is with heavy hearts but unwavering hope that we share the story of Garett Wiltse, a beloved husband, father, therapist, and friend, who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. This devastating news has deeply impacted everyone who knows and loves him — from his family, friends, and church community to the countless clients whose lives he has touched through his compassionate and skilled counseling work.
For over decades, Garett has dedicated his life to the emotional, mental, and spiritual healing of others. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, LICSW), Garett has walked alongside men and women through their darkest seasons — offering guidance, empathy, and faith-driven support. He is known for creating safe, nonjudgmental spaces for his clients, where healing can begin and hope can flourish. His work has specialized in men’s issues, anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, life transitions, and more. He is trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, CPT, and anger management, and integrates these tools with spiritual wisdom to guide clients toward lasting transformation.
Beyond his professional calling, Garett is a deeply devoted family man — a loving husband, to Kari, and the proud father of a 14-year-old son, Carter. He is the kind of person who listens without judgment, prays without hesitation, and shows up with humility and strength. His faith in Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of both his personal life and therapeutic approach. Garett has poured himself out for others for years — now, it’s our turn to pour back into him.
Garett’s diagnosis has brought with it not only emotional and physical challenges but also significant financial burdens. The cost of medical treatments, therapies, and time away from work is mounting quickly. This GoFundMe has been created to help ease that burden — to give Garett and his family the freedom to focus on healing, on hope, and on the time they have together.
Whether you know Garett personally, professionally, or through the stories of those he’s helped, you know his heart. If he has impacted your life in any way — or if you feel led to stand with him in this fight — we invite you to give. No amount is too small—every prayer, every donation, every share matters.
Let’s rally together and show Garett the same care, strength, and support that he has so generously given to so many.
Please keep Garett and his family in your prayers. And thank you for standing with him in this fight.
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." – Galatians 6:2
