Hi friends,

Last night I had to rush my sweet cat, Garbage, to the emergency vet after she began vomiting. After tests and x-rays, the vets discovered she has an intestinal blockage that requires surgery. She’s going into surgery this morning at VEG Lincoln Park here in Chicago, and while I’m so grateful she’s in such excellent hands, the cost of her care has quickly grown overwhelming.

Between yesterday’s ER visit and today’s surgery, the total is running close to $11,500. I do my best to always have emergency funds for her, but this sudden situation has gone far beyond what I could prepare for. Garbage means the absolute world to me, if you know me, you know how loved she is. I can’t imagine life without her, and I’ll do anything to make sure she gets the chance to recover and keep being her quirky, sweet self.

I would be so grateful for any support to help cover the costs of her care. Truly, anything helps, whether it’s donating a few dollars or simply sharing this with your friends, family, or community.
