Gannicus will be 11 years old in August and has always been a very active and healthy dog. Over the last couple of weeks, I noticed he wasn’t as energetic as usual and started having trouble urinating and using the bathroom. He also began losing weight rapidly because he would vomit every time after eating. Concerned, I took him to a vet hospital, but the experience was discouraging—they told me, based only on an x-ray, that further testing wasn’t worth it. Thankfully, another technician suggested an ultrasound, which revealed a large prostatic cyst and several tiny masses that need to be removed.

The funds raised will go directly toward Gannicus’s surgery to remove the prostatic cyst pressing against his prostate and bladder, as well as the tiny masses within the cysts. If these aren’t removed, it could cause serious problems and prevent him from using the restroom at all. We want nothing more than for our sweet boy to return to his energetic, fun-loving self. The vet assured us that with surgery, Gannicus can have a great quality of life and get back to normal once he recovers.
