Help Gandalf the Rescue Cat Get Back on His Paws!

Dear Friends of Benjamin Butterscotch, Butterscotch Castle Cat Rescue, and Animal Lovers everywhere,

We desperately need help paying off the debt of these bills from our beloved rescue kitty Gandalf the Gray. Your donation will directly contribute to covering Gandalf's medical expenses, starting with FIP medications ($1573.60), his ongoing veterinary care for his FIP and broken leg ($2354.52), and now his emergency abdominal surgery ($4600). Gandalf’s foster parents have placed the surgery on their credit card but we would like to be able to pay that too, which is why I’ve included it in the total. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant impact on Gandalf's journey to recovery and will help us continue to provide him with the best possible care. Your donations will make it possible to continue giving the best care to all the cats in our rescue.

On June 20, 2024, we celebrated Gandalf's first birthday—an incredible milestone for a cat who has faced more challenges than most in his short life. Gandalf came into our lives as a rescue found in a box on the streets of South Los Angeles just after the 4th of July in 2023. I rescued Gandalf along with his mama and three siblings. They were all sick little babies but we got them medicine and a safe home with Butterscotch Castle Cat Rescue where they could grow and thrive. Since then, he has bravely battled through multiple health crises.

In the past year, Gandalf has undergone treatment for the life threatening illness FIP, battled through a broken leg with ongoing medication, and just a week ago faced a life-threatening intestinal blockage that required emergency surgery and hospitalization. Through it all, Gandalf has shown incredible resilience and a heart of gold.

As Gandalf's human rescuers, we have spared no effort or expense to ensure he receives the care and love he deserves. However, the financial burden of Gandalf's extensive medical treatments has become overwhelming. We currently have 30 cats in our rescue’s care but none of them have ever incurred the kind of bills Gandalf has. We are reaching out to our community for support during this challenging time.

Gandalf is not just an absolutely perfect rescue kitten—he is a part of the Butterscotch Family. And even though he will hopefully soon be adopted to a loving family, while he’s in our care, we treat him like one of our own and do everything we can to ensure his health and happiness. His playful antics, affectionate purrs, silly little resting grump face, and unwavering spirit have touched our hearts deeply. He is a really special little guy! We are immensely grateful for any help you can provide in supporting Gandalf's ongoing recovery and ensuring he can enjoy a healthy, happy life ahead.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering our plea and for being a part of Gandalf's journey. Together, we can give Gandalf the chance at the long and happy life he truly deserves.

With love and gratitude,
Benjamin Butterscotch and Benjamin’s Dad, Cameron
