Help Gameseum Recover Post-COVID
Donation protected
Gameseum: Mega-Arcade & Museum has been a successful and inviting arcade in Lancaster County for 4 years, serving over 30,000 customers and creating countless memories. We lost $70,000 during COVID in profits... Our rent increased +62% in June compared to May and prior, the economy crashed, and the pandemic still waves it's ugly finger... Unfortunately over the COVID-19 pandemic, Gameseum was hit with unfair restrictions compared to other businesses, being closed for an extra three months (for a total of 6 a yes SIX) due to a "recreational activity" as the theme of our indoor business. Additionally, due to the nature of our business, Gameseum could obviously not offer "curbside pickup" or any form of outdoor entertainment which sustained millions of businesses towards the tail-end of the pandemic. Having picked up $0.00 income from the middle of March until around August, but still being required to pay our full amount of thousands of bills each month (roughly $5,000 under these circumstances), we kept Gameseum alive by wiping out our savings. As with ALL recreational businesses, the return was not a grand one - as countless (at times exaggerated) government outreach programs continued to discourage returning to businesses such as ours, a message that still affects us to this day and will likely require several years to no longer be considered the "black sheep". Thankfully we were one of the very few arcades to make it through COVID-19, but the fight is not over. Our electric bill alone is obviously very high and $1,000+ each month. We would appreciate any help regaining our financial foundation to help Gameseum prosper further. If you would like to see Gameseum continue to operate in Ephrata, please make a donation!
