My mother, Gail Owens, has always been someone who puts others first. Even after facing heartbreaking loss and personal challenges, her caring spirit remains strong. In 2020, we lost my little sister, and since then, Gail has struggled with depression and has had a difficult time taking care of herself. She lost her house due to people taking advantage of her kindness, and now she finds herself in a nursing home, still thinking of others before herself.
Recently, Gail’s need for a new wheelchair has become urgent. Her insurance will not cover a replacement because she is in a nursing home, and her current chair is broken and unsafe. It’s been rigged up just to get by, but it’s on the verge of falling apart. I am so proud of how far she’s come in caring for herself, and I want to help her regain her independence and confidence. A new wheelchair would allow her to move around safely and comfortably, giving her back some of the freedom she deserves.
I want to thank everyone in advance for helping my mother during this time of need, especially during the holidays. She’s been really down, and I hope to cheer her up by giving her something she truly needs. Your support will make a real difference in Gail’s life, and I am deeply grateful for any help you can offer.
