Help Gail Breathe a Little Easier
Donation protected
My name is Jessica Davis and I’m setting up this fund-raising campaign to help my Aunt Gail.
(Here's a picture of her from back in her soccer-playing days--she played for years.)

This past September she was diagnosed with lung cancer and is currently recovering from surgery in which they removed a substantial portion of her lungs. (This is what she went through. )
Sometimes life is cruel and this is one of those times.
Not only did my aunt have to face some pretty scary news when she was diagnosed, but she also found out, in the same week, that one of her best friends of over 40 years has cancer too and a particularly aggressive form that requires chemo and radiation.
Despite Gail’s diagnosis and all the uncertainty that comes with it, she opened her home to her friend, so that she could help take care of Sandy. My aunt reasoned that her own recovery would be almost complete around the time that Sandy would start being sick from treatment. This is truly an act of love and one that I admire beyond belief.
Through the years, she’s made enormous sacrifices to help her friends and family, including exhausting her personal wealth to care for a loved one who lost her own battle with cancer.
She needs our help.
My aunt is a hairstylist. Her vocation does not provide paid time off. And after spending all that she had to take care of her partner, there wasn’t much left to buy an expensive disability policy or save for her own potential future health crises. Anyone who has faced a medical ordeal knows how fast the bills pile up when you’ve got medical expenses coming in but no income. So, I’m asking for your help.
I like to believe that human beings are fundamentally good and will come together in the face of adversity. My aunt has enough on her plate, worrying about her health and Sandy’s too. I don’t want her to have to worry about finances on top of everything else.
My goal is to raise $5000 to help ends meet for my aunt, so she can breathe a little easier through this incredibly tough time. Any amount helps (there is a $5 minimum). So please donate what you can to help someone who has and continues to selflessly help others.
