Help Gaia Herrick:
I was fortunate enough to meet Gaia back in March of this year, and am grateful that I’ve gotten to know her. Gaia leads with her heart in everything that she does. Helping others and fighting for what’s right is a huge part of who she is, and what has amazed me most about her is that she does these things for others, while struggling and trying to take care of herself as well at the same time. She’s usually one of the first to recognize injustice, and never turns a blind eye to it, immediately selflessly asking the question “How can I help”?
I launched this GoFundMe for Gaia because it’s time that she feels some of that love and support in return.
Gaia is disabled, and is fighting discrimination every single day in so many ways. She receives very little support monthly for food, and nothing for housing assistance, and with the increases lately in the costs of everything from food to utilities, to rent, things have become overwhelming financially for her, regardless how many hours she’s able to work. To top it off, her partners car, which is used to get 3 people to their jobs as well as Gaia to her doctors appointments, recently broke down. They are unable to afford the repairs right now, which just makes this burden feel even bigger.
I can’t just sit idly by and watch a broken and unfair system push an amazing and compassionate young woman down.
She deserves our help, and I’m hoping that enough people agree, contribute what they can, and help provide her some much needed, and much deserved peace of mind.
Donations will primarily go directly to cover the expected shortfall in rent for August 1st, 2025 and make sure she’s able to have enough food in the house to survive for the next month. Anything left over will go directly towards car repairs.
At a time when it’s obvious that our government wants to abandon the disabled community, it’s up to us to come through for those it seeks to destroy.
Gaia deserves to be able to breathe, even for just a month, and I’m hoping that along with me, you’ll help her be able to do that. Thanks in advance for your help and your compassion.
