Help Gage Fight Crohn's: Support His Recovery

Donation protected

Hello my name is Cheryl. I am a proud mother of a young man named Gage. Gage is fighting for his life right now due to complications of his severe crohns disease.

Gage is a 20 year old hard working farm kid that dealt a bad hand growing up. He had a hole in his heart at birth and got that fixed at 4 yo.

Then at 12 he was diagnosed with severe crohns disease. Back in Nov and Dec 2024 he was in the hospital off and on for several weeks. He had a bowel blockage, then went back in and was sick from a cist on the same area as the blockage, then went back in and had emergency surgery for perforated bowel. He lost several feet of his small intestine at that time. He started his road to healing and was committed to start his farming season the coming spring of 2025.

Well he did start farming this spring. In Feb of 2025 Gage caught pneumonia just 2 months post surgery. He has faught it for 4 months and on several medications to get rid of it. He was coughing so hard that his incision was struggling to heal properly.

Fast forward to the weekend of Memorial Day he went in again to find out how to get rid of this severe cough. Thursday the day before he went to the ER he worked his typical 15 hour day driving tractor . Once in the ER things took a turn for the worse. He was air lifted with the flight for life from Green Bay Wisconsin to Milwaukee Froedtert hospital. He is currently in critical but stable condition. He had exploratory surgery yesterday due to his white blood cells increasing dramatically over night. He has another bowel leak and is also going for another surgery to see if he has cancer in his lung from his treatments he gets. This young man is a fighter and has a great medical team.

Gage is a hard working man. He Works his butt off even though he knows it puts his state medical at risk of being discontinued. Working for farms you don't get time and a half for over time. So straight pay for his 120 hr work weeks during the season. They also do not offer medical insurance or retirement. So with Gages extremely expensive treatments that are 10,000+ a month and his recent hospital bills this insurance is important. But yet he doesn't want to be on disability, and he could get it 100%. He wants to work and pay his bills as a hard working man. He hates hand outs. So he will probably be pissed I did this.

He just got caught up on his truck payment that fell behind while recovering. Mind you this young man didn't go out and buy a new 50,000 truck. He bought his first 10,000 dollar truck and only has a few thousand left. The stress of his bills makes him stress out. That is the last thing he needs right now. I am asking for help to get this kid of mine, yes he will always be my baby Gage lol to have the money to just not stress and stay home from work and just heal if he makes it through. The out come is still very touch and go. I hope he can swallow his pride and accept this and just recover. A dollar or 2 from you can mean the world to him. Thank you for reading this. I appreciate the opportunity to just tell his story. Thank you

*for some.reason his.pics of him in the hospital will not load.

Update: he is awake and moving in the more positive direction. He is off the breathing tube now. As soon as today, take the machine that has been adding oxygen to his blood out of his neck.

He is in positive spirits. He appreciates each and every one of you who has donated and been there for him.
