This past October, my world shifted in a way I never expected. I was placed on strict bed rest after being diagnosed with hypertension and preeclampsia—a frightening and overwhelming experience for any mother, especially while caring for small children. My pregnancy quickly became high-risk, and every day felt like a battle between fear, hope, and faith.

On November 9, at just 37 weeks, doctors had to induce my labor for the safety of both me and my baby. By God’s grace, I welcomed my beautiful daughter—my fourth child—into the world. She is healthy, strong, and a blessing I am beyond grateful for. But giving birth early, while already on unpaid medical leave, has left me in a very difficult situation.

Right now, I am unemployed and on unpaid leave until I’m medically cleared to return to work. I have two babies under the age of two, and I’ve always been the one to push through, figure things out on my own, and stay independent no matter what life throws at me. But this time, the unexpected hit harder than I could ever prepare for.

I didn’t plan for complications. I didn’t plan to be put on bed rest. I didn’t plan to deliver early. And I certainly didn’t plan to be without income while trying to care for my children, provide formula, diapers, wipes, and basics, and manage everyday responsibilities with limited support.

As much as it humbles me to say this, I need help during this time. Anything—donations, baby supplies, resources, or simply sharing my story—would mean more than words can describe. I’m doing everything I can to regain stability so I can return to work and take care of my family the way I always have.
