Help Gabrielle Walk Again and Hold Her Baby Boy
Three weeks ago, our lives were turned upside down. Gabrielle, a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, was in the passenger seat of a car when she suddenly lost feeling in one of her arms. Within minutes, the numbness spread to the other. By the time she reached the emergency room, she could no longer move anything but her neck.
Since that terrifying moment, Gabrielle has been hospitalized — fighting paralysis in both her arms and legs, unable to hold her 1-year-old son, Paul, or do even the simplest daily tasks on her own.
Doctors have spent weeks running intensive tests, including spinal taps and MRIs, trying to determine the cause. At first, they believed it was Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Then came a possible diagnosis of a rare neurological form of West Nile Virus. The diagnosis continued to change back and forth. Now, after countless evaluations, specialists are again leaning toward Guillain-Barré Syndrome — a rare condition where the body’s immune system attacks the nerves.
Regardless of the final diagnosis, what’s clear is this: Gabrielle is facing a long and uncertain road to recovery. She’s expected to remain in the hospital for at least another week before she can be transferred to a specialized long-term acute care facility and eventually to a neuro-rehabilitation center, where she will begin the grueling journey of relearning how to use her hands, her arms, and legs — to hopefully, one day, walk again.
Gabrielle is only in her 30s. She’s a devoted mother who’s spent her entire life putting others before herself. She’s the kind of person who’d give her last dollar, her last ounce of strength, to help someone else. She has always carried the weight of others on her shoulders — never asking for anything in return. And now, she’s facing something no one can face alone.
She can’t work. She can’t drive. She can’t care for her baby. The emotional and financial strain is overwhelming — hospital bills, mobility equipment, rehab, child care, transportation, living expenses — it’s all adding up quickly.
We are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, for your help.
Any donation — no matter how small — will go directly to supporting Gabrielle’s medical care, her son, and her long journey toward healing. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this with your friends, family, and social media — your share could bring this story to someone who can help change her life.
Gabrielle has always been there for others. Let’s be there for her now.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
With gratitude,
Gabrielle’s family ❤️
