Empower Gabrielle: A Car and License for a Fresh Start
Donation protected
My name is Gabrielle, and I recently escaped a domestic violence and mentally abusive relationship in rural Minnesota. For a long time, I felt trapped and isolated, but I managed to graduate from online school with the hope of starting a new career in the medical field. Since leaving, I've been couch surfing with my two cats, Sargent Ryan and Monkey, who have been my constant companions and support through everything. I don't have any family to turn to, and I've exhausted all the local resources available to me.
Right now, my biggest hurdle is getting my driver's license and a reliable vehicle. Without these, I can't apply for jobs in my field—positions like phlebotomist or medical office administrator, especially with organizations like The American Red Cross, require a valid license. The nearest bus stop is seven miles away, making it nearly impossible to get to interviews or work. I've been staying with someone I barely knew, a friend from Facebook, who opened their home to me and my cats. Their kindness has shown me that there are still good people in the world, even when it feels like hope is running out.
Getting my license and a vehicle would be life-changing. It's the missing link to starting over, building confidence, and finally being able to help others the way I've always wanted. Any support would mean the world to me and my little family. Thank you for reading and for believing in second chances.
