UPDATE: Unfortunately, Toulouse’s tail got worse. It was very swollen a few days after his surgery and we called the vet, they said it was normal, but then it did not get much better. We woke up this morning and his tail was bleeding a lot and looked like the incision had ripped open. Took him straight to the ER vet again and they said they will have to do another surgery. They said some of the tissue is starting to die off and looks like there might be an infection. This was exactly what we were hoping would NOT happen (sigh). They took a sample of the tissue and are sending off to get tested. Putting him on more pain meds and multiple antibiotics today. Surgery is scheduled for Friday and they wrapped and bandaged his tail up until then. The vet said hopefully there is enough skin they can cut out the bad and just restitch up but might have to amputate more tail depending on how bad the damage is.
It’s going to be over another $1k for the “revision” surgery. I know a lot of you have already been generous enough to donate, but if there is anyone else who is able to help, we would greatly appreciate anything. We thought we were out of the woods, but life just seems to keep challenging us more. Feeling very discouraged but trying to be hopeful. We just want our sweet baby to be okay and to put all of this trauma behind us. Please keep Toots in your thoughts and prayers.
Our sweet baby, Toulouse (aka Toots) had a horrific accident early this morning and we had to rush him to the emergency vet. He is going to be okay but he needs surgery to have his tail amputated and they will need to keep him overnight for observation. Needless to say, this is all going to cost more than we can afford right now.
Money has been tight and only getting tighter going into the summer/slow season. We are asking for help from anyone who is able to spare some change - even a small amount goes a long way. We are only asking for what we need to cover the vet costs and nothing more. Even if you can’t help financially, you can just share this link and that would mean a lot. Any sort of help is truly appreciated.
We are traumatized and worried, but we are grateful Toots is going to be okay (for the most part). Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers.
