Help Gabriella get a new car
Donation protected
My name is Gabriella and I am fundraising to get a used car since my car was stolen. I was at the Target parking lot in Emeryville grocery shopping with a friend on Sunday, November 28th 2021 at 3:50 pm, as I was coming out of the store with my shopping cart, when I saw my car driving away. The car was locked and I had the keys with me so they must have picked the lock. Since this happened, I have had to rely on my family and friends to take me around, as well as take my brother and I to school everyday. I am a senior at Skyline High School and would like to have a car to take with me to college next year. I work really hard in school and currently have 4.3 GPA. I am involved in student government and do a lot of work to help my community and school. Some of the events that I have volunteered at are the Oaktoberfest, Turkey Trot, Burrito Roll, Love Your Park Event at Redwood Heights, and have hosted multiple Toy Drives and Career Days at school. The car was shared between my Dad and I, unfortunately, we do not have theft insurance and are unable to buy a new car. My Dad has not been working since 2019 and my Mom passed away in 2018. Since then, I have been responsible for all of the household chores as well as grocery shopping every week, primarily out of my pocket. I am also responsible for daily transportation for my brother and other errands. I have been babysitting to supplement income but it is harder for me to get to and from babysitting jobs without a car. In addition, it is difficult for me to get to Skyline since I live in West Oakland. A lot of my babysitting jobs are at night, I am currently staying with my great Aunt because she lives closer to the school, and she is unable to drive at night because of her bad eyesight. So if you are able to help me get a new car that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to consider financially supporting me.
