On March 25th , 2026, a dear friend's son, Gabriel, was rushed to ER with a sudden ruptured appendix; a medical emergency that quickly turned life threatening.
Within three days, Gabriel endured three major surgeries, as doctors fought to control septic shock, severe infections spreading throughout his body, and additional medical challenges. He was placed on a ventilator and kept unconscious for several days while loved ones faced the uncertainty of his survival.
Gabriel spent one full week in ICU, battling for life. Thankfully, on April 3rd, he was released to recover at home, which was a huge
milestone. However, his journey is far from over. He requires home care from professional home nurses, and daily family related care. Doctors have made it clear this will be a long and difficult recovery.
Gabriel is headed in the right direction. However, he is unable to return to work in the foreseeable future. He has applied for temporary disability, but the process is long and has not come to fruition yet. We are told it can take extensive time. Yet, medical and basic need costs are escalating.
Many of you know Gabriel as a friendly and hard-working employee of Splash Café in Pismo Beach. He is someone who has always shown up for others- now he needs our help. The financial strain from emergency medical care, surgeries, lost income, and daily care is overwhelming. We are asking for any support you can give – whether it be a donation
or sharing of this page. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go towards helping Gabriel focus on what matters the most, healing and getting back on his feet.
Thank you for your kindness, consideration, support and prayers during this very challenging time. We appreciate you!
