My friend Gabriel Perez, whom I have known for five years, has recently been detained by the Greensboro police and subsequently by ICE. Gabriel is a young man with a bright future ahead of him, and he’s also one hell of a baseball player. His sudden detention has left his family, friends, and me deeply concerned for his well-being and his future in the United States.

Gabriel came to this country as a Venezuelan refugee, hoping for safety and opportunity. Now, he faces the daunting challenge of fighting for his freedom against the American government. We are doing everything we can to support him, but the costs of legal representation are overwhelming. Every dollar raised will go directly toward giving Gabriel a fair chance in court and helping him stay with his loved ones.
