Help Gabriel on his cancer treatment

Olá pessoal, meu nome é Fernanda e criei esta página no GoFundMe para apoiar e arrecadar fundos para Carlos Gabriel Arruda, nosso querido amigo Gabriel, que foi diagnosticado com câncer no cérebro (astrocytoma) em estágio 3/4 aqui em Sydney, Austrália.  Infelizmente, o cancer foi descoberto em um estágio ja avançado no início de maio de 2023. No dia 4 de maio, foi realizada uma cirurgia para a remoção do tumor, na qual os médicos conseguiram remover a maior parte, porem, nao foi possivel a remocao de parte do tumor que está localizada em uma região que compromete movimentos, visão e memória. No dia 29 de maio, recebemos o resultado da biópsia e infelizmente uma nova cirurgia foi necessaria para tentar remover o restante do tumor. A segunda cirurgia foi realizada no dia 9 de Junho e por ser mais delicada, existem mais riscos de sequelas que podem comprometer o estado físico dele.  O Gabriel tem 38 anos e mora na Austrália desde 2014. Desde que ele chegou aqui, ele tem buscado obter a tão sonhada cidadania australiana, e como Chef, ele foi sponsorado, mas obteve o PR há menos de 1 ano, o que ainda não lhe dá direito a nenhum auxílio do governo. Obviamente, ele não tem trabalhado desde o início de tudo isso. Conseguimos trazer a mae dele para ajudar nesse primeiro momento, porem a familia nao tem condicoes de arcar com os custos que virao.  Sabemos que após a cirurgia ele precisará de, no mínimo, 6 meses de tratamento com sessoes de radioterapia e quimioterapia. Logo apos a recuperacao da cirurgia do dia 9 de Junho, serao iniciadas as sessoes de radioterapia (cerca de 5 sessões por semana).  Os médicos informaram que, devido ao estágio crítico do câncer, ele não poderá trabalhar por pelo menos 6 meses. Unfortunately, the cancer was discovered at an advanced stage in early May 2023. On May 4th, a surgery was performed to remove the tumor, in which the doctors were able to remove most of it, but it was not possible to remove part of the tumor located in an area that affects movement, vision, and memory. On May 29th, we received the biopsy results, and unfortunately, a new surgery was necessary to try to remove the remaining tumor. The second surgery was performed on June 9th, and since it is more delicate, there are more risks of side effects that can affect his physical condition. Gabriel is 38 years old and has been living in Australia since 2014. Since he arrived here, he has been seeking to obtain the long-awaited Australian citizenship, and as a Chef, he was sponsored, but he obtained Permanent Residency less than 1 year ago, which still does not entitle him to any government assistance. Obviously, he hasn't been able to work since all of this started. We managed to bring his mother to help in this initial stage, but the family cannot afford the upcoming costs. We know that after the surgery, he will need at least 6 months of treatment with radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Shortly after the recovery from the June 9th surgery, radiation therapy sessions will begin (about 5 sessions per week). The doctors have informed us that, due to the critical stage of the cancer, he will not be able to work for at least 6 months. The costs during the treatment will be high, and we need help with rent, food, and medications. Any help will be appreciated, and the strength of our Brazilian community will help Gabriel get through this!
