Hello, my name is Maria Andrea, and I am a widowed mother raising my son on my own here in the United States while I pursue my studies on a student visa.

Gabriel has loved soccer since he could walk. He began playing seriously at just four years old, and since then, the field has been his second home. Soccer is not just an activity for him — it is his passion, his discipline, and his dream.

Last year, Gabriel had the opportunity to play at a highly competitive level with Orlando City in the MLS Next program, which was an important step in his development. However, after the loss of my husband in Colombia and our move to the United States to rebuild our lives, I faced significant financial challenges while studying and supporting our household on my own.

Because of this situation, I made the decision to move Gabriel to another club of the same competitive level, Florida Kraze Krush, where they kindly offered him a 50% scholarship to help him continue playing. This opportunity allowed him to stay in a serious training environment and continue growing as an athlete.

During this time, we have also been deeply grateful for the support of his coach Alex from FKK and Coach Marcelo from OSC, as well as Daritza and Tanya from the OSC administrative team, and our close friends Justine and Keith, who have generously helped by driving Gabriel to practices and accompanying him to tournaments throughout the state of Florida so he would not miss these important opportunities.

Even with the scholarship and this incredible support of our friends, the remaining costs — league fees, travel expenses, and participation costs — have now become more than I can manage alone.

Gabriel continues to train with determination and heart. He consistently contributes to his team, often scoring two or three goals per match, and demonstrating the discipline, resilience, and teamwork that soccer has taught him throughout his life.

As a mother, my greatest hope is simply to give him the chance to continue developing in a structured environment that keeps him focused, motivated, and surrounded by positive mentors as he pursues his dream of becoming a professional soccer player. I am raising funds to help cover his current soccer-related expenses so he can remain in the same program and continue pursuing the sport he loves.

Hola, mi nombre es María Andrea. Soy viuda y estoy criando a mi hijo Gabriel sola en los Estados Unidos mientras continúo con mis estudios con una visa de estudiante.

Gabriel ama el fútbol desde que tenía apenas dos años. Comenzó a jugar formalmente a los cuatro años, y desde ese momento la cancha se convirtió en su segundo hogar. Para él, el fútbol no es solamente un juego; es su pasión, su disciplina y su sueño.

El año pasado, Gabriel tuvo la oportunidad de jugar a nivel altamente competitivo con Orlando City en la categoría MLS Next, lo cual fue un paso muy importante para su desarrollo. Sin embargo, después de la pérdida de mi esposo en Colombia y que Gabriel y yo nos viniéramos solos a vivir a los Estados Unidos para reconstruir nuestras vidas, he enfrentado retos económicos muy duros mientras estudio y saco nuestro hogar adelante.

Debido a esta situación, tomé la decisión de cambiar a Gabriel a otro club del mismo nivel competitivo, Florida Kraze Krush, donde muy amablemente le ofrecieron una beca del 50% para que pudiera seguir jugando. Esta oportunidad le ha permitido mantenerse en un entorno de entrenamiento serio y continuar creciendo como deportista.

Durante este tiempo, también hemos estado profundamente agradecidos por el apoyo de su entrenador Alex de FKK y del entrenador Marcelo de OSC, así como de Daritza y Tanya del equipo administrativo de OSC, y de nuestros amigos cercanos Justine y Keith, quienes generosamente nos han ayudado llevando a Gabriel a los entrenamientos y acompañándolo a los torneos por todo el estado de Florida para que no perdiera estas importantes oportunidades.

Aun con la beca y con esta increíble ayuda de nuestros amigos, los costos restantes del equipo, los viajes y los torneos están llegando a ser más de lo que puedo manejar en este momento.

Gabriel sigue entrenando con determinación y amor. Siempre aporta al equipo, muchas veces anotando dos o tres goles por partido, y demuestra la disciplina, la resiliencia y el trabajo en equipo que el fútbol le ha enseñado a lo largo de su vida.

Como madre, mi mayor deseo es que Gabriel pueda continuar desarrollándose en un entorno estructurado de alto rendimiento, rodeado de oportunidades y de mentores positivos.

Por eso estoy recaudando fondos para ayudar a cubrir los gastos actuales relacionados con su equipo, de manera que pueda permanecer en este mismo equipo y seguir persiguiendo su sueño de convertirse en futbolista profesional.
