Help Mayra and Her Son Gabriel Stay in Their Home

My name is Doris Whitehead, and I'm creating this fundraiser for my dear friend Mayra Bautista and her 16-year-old son, Gabriel, who urgently need our help.

Gabriel was born with cerebral palsy and severe gastric complications. He has never walked or spoken and needs full-time care, every day and every night. Mayra has been his loving caregiver since the day he was born, with the help of her parents. But now, her parents are elderly and no longer able to assist, just as Gabriel needs more care than ever before.

Mayra works like a baker from home, but whenever Gabriel gets sick—which happens often—they lose everything they have and fall deeper into debt. They are currently months behind on rent and urgently need $2,000 to avoid eviction, cover basic living expenses, and pay off a bank debt.

Mayra never asks for anything but prayers—but this time, I knew I had to do something more. I’m not in a position to help financially myself with all, but I know that together, we can make a real difference.
