Help Gabriel After a Hit & Run Accident

My cousin Gabriel was the victim of a hit and run accident on Thursday, August 18th while he was riding his motorcycle. The car that hit him was so damaged that it wouldn't even start after the accident, and the driver ran away and left Gabriel unconscious on the street.

He is in a hospital in Huaycan, Peru right now with two fractures in his left shoulder, a fracture in his right wrist, a fissure in his leg, and extreme damage in his toe. And, even worse, he still can't move his left arm or fingers.

Now that the swelling has gone down, he needs emergency surgery where he'll need nails and platinum for his extreme injuries. His doctors say it may take over a year of rehabilitation for him to get better and they still do not know if he will regain the ability to move his left arm and hand.

I'm making this GoFundMe for family and friends to come together for Gabriel during such an awful moment of his life. Anyone who's met him, even for just a second, knows the kind of person he is; he has a smile permanently etched on his face and his positive and funny attitude literally lights up the room.

Even though he's only 21 years old, I've always been amazed at his outlook on life...I don't think there are enough words to describe how it is to know someone did this to him and to know he's in so much pain.

Any money collected here will be sent directly to fund his surgery and rehabilitation. I'll post any updates. Thank you for reading and I would really appreciate sharing his story.

Mi primo Gabriel fue víctima de un accidente de atropello y fuga el jueves 18 de agosto mientras manejaba su motocicleta. El carro que lo chocó estaba tan dañado que ni siquiera arrancaba después del accidente, y el conductor se fue corriendo y dejó a Gabriel inconsciente en la calle.

Estoy creando este GoFundMe para que la familia y los amigos se reúnan por Gabriel durante un momento tan terrible de su vida. Toda persona que lo ha conocido, aunque haya sido solo por un segundo, sabe el tipo de persona que es; tiene una sonrisa permanente grabada en la cara y su actitud positiva y graciosa transforma toda la energia en donde sea que esta.

A pesar de que solo tiene 21 años, siempre me ha sorprendido su forma de ver la vida y no creo que haya suficientes palabras para describir cómo se siente saber que alguien le haya hecho esto y que esta sufriendo tanto, sintiendo tanto dolor.
