Help Gabi on her long road to recovery

My partner Gabi had a serious bike accident in March 2023. She was thrown from her bike due to wayward tree roots on a cycle path on her way from home from work.

After initial surgery and spending two weeks in hospital, Gabi was left with extensive injuries including major facial fractures and the loss of multiple teeth. Gabi's injuries can only be corrected by complex jaw and dental reconstructive surgery and ongoing orthodontic treatment.

Gabi is struggling with the resulting impact on how she looks now. She is also suffering from significant concussion and cognitive difficulties.

Enduring excruciating pain and limited mobility, Gabi courageously attends weekly physiotherapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy and ongoing pain management sessions - demonstrating her unwavering determination to regain her strength.

The impact of the accident has cast a shadow on Gabi's daily life. Her injuries make even the simplest tasks like eating, swallowing, brushing her teeth and sleeping all very challenging.

Recognising the immense emotional and financial toll these circumstances impose, I am launching this GoFundMe campaign with the aim of raising $100,000.

I know this goal is ambitious, but we all know how expensive basic dental care is. This amount will ensure Gabi receives the initial surgery and preparation and can focus on her recovery.

Your generous contributions will help Gabi receive the care and treatment she requires to regain her confidence, live a life free of pain and once again smile the way we all know she can. Gabi is resilient and would never ask but you can help me remind Gabi she is not alone in this battle.
