Help Gabe Recover After Hunting Accident

Hello, my name is Desireé, and for those of you who already know me, you know Gabe Mitchell is my oldest son.

On the evening of 4/5/2025 Gabe was involved in a scary accident while hunting. He broke his leg and dislocated two toes after falling into a hole while tracking a bear. Gabe waited in the cold, on a steep mountain incline for 9 hours until Douglas County Search and Rescue was able to pack him out from the hunting site, near Tom Folley Mountain Road, just outside Elkton, Oregon.

Early Sunday morning, Gabe was rushed by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg where he was treated and released. Gabe has a long road ahead of him and will need to follow up with the ankle surgeon. With Gabe being uninsured, we expect medical bills to be in the thousands. Alongside everyday bills and Gabe's recovery, this process is going to be very difficult; both financially and physically. Gabe is unable to work and will be in recovery for some time. He's the sole breadwinner and all responsibilities, financially and at home, have now fallen on Victoria's shoulders, who has been fortunate enough to stay home with their one-year-old son, Weston.
