If you’ve spent time around the Central Oregon flyfishing community over the last couple of decades, there’s a good chance you know Gabe Parr.
Right now, Gabe is dealing with a serious vision problem that requires treatment he can’t afford on his own. The cost is estimated to be around $6,000, and to cover it, he’s preparing to sell his drift boat and trailer one of the few assets he has that could bring in enough money to pay for the procedure.
For most people, a boat is just a boat. For Gabe, it’s been a huge part of his life. It’s where he’s spent countless days on the water, shared his knowledge with others, and built relationships throughout the fishing community.
The reality is that Gabe is facing a choice between protecting his vision and holding onto something that has been a major part of who he is for years.
I’m sharing this in the hope that we can help ease some of that burden. If enough people pitch in, maybe Gabe can focus on getting the care he needs instead of having to give up something he loves to make it happen.
If you’re able to help, thank you. If not, sharing this fundraiser is appreciated too.
Let’s help keep Gabe doing what he loves.
Tight lines.
