Help Gabe Fight After a Devastating Accident
Donation protected
Late Friday night, Gabe was tragically hit by a car while out with a friend in San Diego. The exact circumstances of the accident are still under investigation, but what we do know is that Gabe suffered a major head injury and is currently in the ICU in an induced coma.
His parents, Heather and Clint, rushed from Sacramento to San Diego as soon as they found out and have remained by his side ever since. Gabe has undergone emergency brain surgery to relieve intense swelling and has been through multiple critical care steps in just a few short days. His condition remains serious, but there have been moments of hope. The medical team is making slow, steady progress and has recently begun the delicate process of easing him out of sedation; watching closely for signs of healing while doing everything they can to protect his brain from further injury.
Clint and Heather are not navigating this alone. Their three other children Caleb, Jakey, and Millie are tightly woven into this journey too. As the older siblings juggle their own responsibilities, they’re helping hold things together at home and making trips to be with Gabe when they can. The extended family has also rallied around them. Grandparents, aunts, and uncles have all stepped in with love and support. The deep bond this family shares is their greatest strength, and they’re walking through every part of this together.
Gabe is a vibrant, fiery soul - full of life, music, creativity, and laughter. He recently moved to San Diego to pursue nursing school, chasing a future dedicated to helping others. Now he’s in the fight of his life, and the journey toward healing will be long, uncertain, and expensive.
This page is a place where you can help. Many people have asked how to support the family, whether through donations or simply staying informed, and we hope this space can do both. While Heather and Clint are entirely focused on Gabe’s care, the costs of medical treatment, temporary relocation, and the long road to recovery are already mounting.
If you’re able to contribute financially, your donation will go directly toward easing that burden so they can remain close to Gabe and focus on what matters most. And if giving isn’t possible right now, your thoughts, prayers, and messages of encouragement are just as meaningful. Truly, every bit of support helps.
We’ll continue to post updates here so friends and loved ones can stay informed without needing to reach out directly. Thank you for respecting their space and helping carry this incredible family through the hardest days of their lives.
Gabe is a fighter. His spirit, his strength, and the love surrounding him are powerful forces. While the path forward is uncertain, there is real hope and knowing so many are cheering him on gives this family strength for every step ahead.
