Help Gabe beat mystery illness causing paralysis

Hello, fellow prayer warriors!

A few weeks ago, 18-year-old Gabe, was attending his senior prom. Friday, he was suddenly unable to walk, see, or speak properly.

His parents rushed him to the ER closest to home and were stunned to hear the treatment team suspected this strong, otherwise healthy young man had a stroke.

After multiple tests, the treatment team at the first hospital concluded he should be immediately transported to a facility that boasts some of the best stroke and infectious disease doctors in California.

Gabe was moved to a hospital room at UC Davis Medical Center after spending some time in ICU. Gabe's fighting with everything he's got, with family by his side.

Doctors' current theory is that Gabe may be suffering from ADEM. ADEM is acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. It is a condition which damages myelin and causes widespread inflammation in the brain and spinal cord.

The Terranovas' expenses as they focus fully on Gabe's health are expected to be substantial.

Get to know Gabe

Gabe is one of the coolest, kindest, smartest young men you could ever hope to meet. He's an excellent musician who plays both piano and violin. He hopes to work in the medical field one day. He quickly became a favorite in the ICU, where the nurses tell him of their own experiences in the field, which Gabe loves. Gabe is slated to go to college in the fall, and he is determined to kick ADEM to the curb and go learn how he can help other young people conquer their medical conditions just as he will.
