Help Gabby, who was attacked by another dog
Donation protected
My name is Tom Terrill, and this is Gabby, the Miniature Schnauzer.
(Please be advised that the description of what has happened to Gabby might be too disturbing for young children.)
Gabby is the victim of an unprovoked attack by a much larger dog that got loose from its owner!
Gabby is a 12 year old Miniature Schnauzer who is the sweetest little dog! She probably weighs about 13 pounds and has the softest coat. She is dearly loved by our entire family.
We were walking home through the parking lot of William Neis Park in Doylestown, PA on Thursday, Sept 9, 2021 at about 6:30 pm, when I saw a large, adult Shepherd from about 75 feet away running towards us at full speed! This dog was about 40 to 45 lbs by my guess, and was laser-focused on our Gabby.
I tried to intervene, and used my leash to try to swing Gabby away from the other dog, but it kept pursuing her, and eventually bit her in the rear hindquarters and shook vigorously. The German Shepherd tore a hole in the side of Gabby, and her intestines were protruding through the wound.
We rushed Gabby to the NorthStar VETS Emergency Trauma & Specialty Center in Robbinsville, NJ, which is about an hour from our home in PA, where Gabby has undergone emergency surgery late last night!
The images of the attack have been playing through my mind non-stop. We have not been able to find the Shepherd, nor its owner.
Gabby has had part of her intestines and bowel removed during the emergency surgery. She is on intravenous fluids and has a food tube in her nose. She has been given a 50/50 chance of survival from the doctors there, and will be in their care for several more days.
We're currently raising funds for the cost of the surgery, and will be forever thankful if you can help us out in any way you are able!

The original estimate from the hospital was between $5,000-$8,000.
After last night's surgery, the new estimate is between $10,000 and $12,000. I have been able to secure some funding through Credit Care of $4,900, and I am looking into a credit line increase, but the hospital is looking for additional deposit money as soon as possible.
Please help if you can! Any amount is greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Tom Terrill
