MY STORY
Hello, it's Gabby here! I'm a 19-year-old college dropout (sort of) who is pursuing missions. Those that have stumbled across this page may be questioning the details behind this fundraiser. I would love to share but prior, I feel led to start with a snippet of how I came to this current circumstance.

Judging by the title of my fundraiser you may assume I am religious; you may see me as another good ole Christian. Ironically, I was a Christian for 18 years of my life without knowing the God I always proclaimed. I did everything "correct" according to modern churchgoer beliefs; I attended Sunday service, Sunday school, youth group, church camp & other events, all while serving my local church. That seems to be the typical Christian lifestyle right? Well... this may come as a shocker to many because according to God's written word, The Bible, Jesus and His disciples lived a very different lifestyle. Now of course I fully support all of the pursuits above and agree that they are important however, my perspective has changed when the question of daily lifestyle comes into play.

The first command Jesus gave His disciples was "Follow me." He invited them to walk with Him, to do everyday life with Him, & to follow His example. I professed to be a Christian in the past but was I walking with Jesus? No, I wasn't. Truth be told, I was walking with the world, following their example, adapting the world's mindset. I failed to give God any of my individual, personal, one on one time. Can you imagine having a significant other, shoving them in a closet six days out of the week just to take them out for two hours on Sunday? I didn't know God and He didn't know me. 

I became born again on 9/11/2020. This moment changed my life. Days before this, I began reading my Bible with fresh eyes. I came to the realization that Jesus and His disciples lived a life very different compared to the one I was. Jesus instructed them how to carry the lifestyle of a follower to everyday life: how to live out church rather than just attend it.

Now back to the purpose of this fundraiser to the ones still reading (thank you!), I feel a calling on my life to radically serve Jesus and others. I never felt I belonged where I was, not because I was higher or better, but rather because I desperately crave spreading the good news to as many as possible. I understand what it's like to live as a lukewarm Christian, with one foot in the world and one foot in Christ. I know that it's empty and doesn't satisfy. I know there are billions looking for the one truth and I want to help people reach that truth. The Lord has placed it on my heart to halt at furthering college, to quit my job, to desert my previous plan of pursuing a career, and instead devote my life to entering something different. He is calling me to become a missionary, something I never expected. I am in no way pursuing this lifestyle because I want to reject work to have "fun" without putting in the hours. I simply have confidence this is the plan He has destined for me. I don't see an issue with going to college or having a career, it's just not my calling.  I desire a radical lifestyle, the one I read about in the Bible. Time is short guys, I need to redeem what's been given to me.

The Lord is good, He’s been leading travel destinations to me in relation to missions, evangelism, fellowship, and plainly giving. I’m not quite sure what the next step God has in store for me, I’m walking by faith. My intention when I initially started this fundraiser was to save money for rent while I join a missionary however, I’m not too sure that’s where God is calling me. At least just not yet. He has placed a few locations on my mind as well as a school focused on the chapter of Luke 10, however, I don’t quite yet have the funds. Everything donated so far has gone towards missionary travel & giving. I made this GoFundMe out of faith that God would provide for where He leads and boy has He! I’ve already traveled to several places so far for Jesus: Atlanta, Kansas City, New Jersey, New Hampshire, soon (God willing) Houston and Orlando, Florida. 

Due to the direction the Lord has placed in my heart, a full-time job wouldn’t be possible. I ask that you who have faithfully stayed this long, consider donating to my goal.
