Help Gabbie Heal and Stay Housed

Gabbie is incredibly fierce. She’s had to be. She largely raised herself, has never had the luxury of falling apart, and rarely shows vulnerability. So for her to ask me for help now means she needs more support than she’s even letting on.

She recently experienced a traumatic pregnancy complicated by preeclampsia. Her baby was born at just 28 weeks and spent weeks in the NICU. Gabbie, who lives with type 1 diabetes, developed major vision problems because of the strain. She is now rapidly losing her sight and has surgery scheduled for August 20.

She is not yet cleared to return to work and is still recovering while caring full-time for her newborn and teenage son. She fell behind on rent and bills while in the hospital and lost her rent assistance during that time. She is now relying on a food bank in Seattle. Her partner is working as much as possible, but it is not enough.

She also racked up toll charges trying to visit her baby in the NICU after she was discharged. She has done everything she can to hold things together, but now she needs help.

Rent and utilities

Transportation and toll costs

Past due bills

Food and basic needs
