Hi everyone!!! I'm G, and I'm a trans masc nonbinary person living down in Texas!

If you're new here or aren't caught up yet, this might come as a surprise to you! And that's okay :) But basically, I've been living with gender dysphoria for pretty much my whole life, specifically regarding my chest, and through many years of therapy and support from my friends, community, and loved ones, I've come to the decision that top surgery is the right move for me.

When I first started thinking about top surgery years ago, I'm not gonna lie it was scary. I know it's a major operation, and the recovery time will be extensive. However! The thought of being able to walk through the world without taking the psychic damage that having a prominent chest gives me fills me with endless amounts of joy, and I want to make that a reality for myself. I truly can't wait!!!

As many of you probably know, shit has been rough down here in the south for trans and gender nonconforming folks. In a time where the government is taking away legal protections left and right, and the average news cycle includes harmful misinformation and fearmongering about trans people, it's getting harder for my community to survive and thrive. Despite the extreme vitriol and hate my community is receiving, it's incredibly important that we continue to make progress on our transitions and keep trying to achieve our goals and embrace ourselves fully.

With all that being said! I would be so eternally grateful if you could help me reach my goal of getting top surgery. I have my consultation all set up, but this process is expensive, and since my provider is out of network, it will likely not be covered by insurance. Because of that, I've set the goal to my out-of-network deductible, which is a big number, I know. With my current income and living expenses, it would take me YEARS to save for this, and with the way our economy is, ya never know what could happen. I'm hoping this will be enough to cover the procedure and any appointment costs, recovery supplies, etc.
