Help Fynnah Walk Again
Donation protected
My name is Fynnah, and I am a 4-year-old, Old English Bulldog Rescue. I am also a princess.

This week, after a freak & traumatic injury while my mom was at work, I completely tore my ACL/CCL and am unable to use my right, hind leg.
What does this mean? The cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) is responsible for ensuring the femur rests properly atop the tibia during weight-bearing movement. When there is a full or partial tear of the CCL, the femur is able to slide down the tibial plateau (the top of the tibia). Sounds painful, hmm? This is why a dog will lift it's leg either partly or fully—to lessen the amount of weight being placed on the stifle (knee) and reduce the amount the femur sliding. I'm currently hopping along, but it really hurts to even squat to use the bathroom.
I will be able to walk again! But I have to have surgery rebuilding my knee.
Once the CCL is torn, it can't be repaired. Instead, weight on the stifle and movement of the femur has to be secured some other way. TPLO stands for tibial plateau leveling osteotomy, and that's exactly what's happening—the surgeon is leveling out the tibial plateau. How this is done is best explained by looking at a picture. I especially like the one below, which shows the stifle (knee) before and after TPLO surgery.

The Benefits. TPLO surgery is the most recent and advanced method for dealing with a torn ACL/CCL. This type of surgery allows for faster healing, better overall range of motion in the joint, the ability to return to normal play/work activity, and less arthritis development over the course of my life!
My mom needs your help.

This surgery is a necessary step to help me be able to walk again, or else I spend the rest of my life in pain, arthritic, and unable to use my right leg. My mom works full time in the tech industry of Portland, but this sudden injury has caught us all off guard.
The surgery costs $3,900 and includes the procedure, hardware to rebuild my knee, all medicines (anesthesia & painkillers/sedatives for post op), hospital overnight boarding, followup consultations for 8-10 weeks, and physical therapy as I learn to walk on my new knee.
We have it scheduled for next Wednesday.
My mom loves me more than anything in the world. I rescued her in 2015 and she would do anything to make sure I'm okay. With the holidays and her birthday coming up this December and January, please consider any donation as an early gift.
Every little bit will help us reach healing and hope.
Thank you and we love you!
