Help Fuzz Aldrin Get Life-Saving Surgery
Donation protected
Meet Fuzz Aldrin! He’s an accomplished catstronaut at the tender age of six and has been very healthy until this year.
Last week, as the fires started raging here in LA, we had to take him to the emergency vet for a urinary blockage. Before he could get treated, the Eaton Fire forced the emergency vet to evacuate, and poor Fuzz with it. After dashing around the city, we finally found a vet able to do his procedure in the valley. We got him unblocked, and as he was starting to heal up, he tragically became blocked again just five days after discharge. We found out he had a cystic bladder and needs a PU surgery and a bladder cystotomy, along with a special diet for the rest of his life.
His first procedure last week emptied our coffers, but our vet has graciously allowed us to have a payment plan with them to have the time to garner the funds for both procedures and a few months of his special diet food. The total is astronomical to us, but absolutely a fraction of what other less scrupulous vets might charge for the same procedures (upward of $15,000 at some vets), but a challenge to our single low income.
Any help to get to the finish line would be greatly appreciated! We can’t wait to have Fuzz home and healthy; we just need your help saving his life! We know this time is hard, especially for those of us in the LA basin, so any help is not only appreciated but truly valued. My wife is disabled and in the process of getting on disability, and I work part-time with side hustles, so this hurdle is great, and with the hands of our community lifting us up, we can make this leap.
