Help Future Fruit Farm Continue Operating
Benji, the man of the Orchard.

A Taste of Place unlike any other.

Selena & Ellen (Daughter & Mother)

Future Fruit Farm is a small family orchard located in the driftless area of Wisconsin celebrating its 41st year. They are one of the few old-fashioned orchards left that still grow full-size pear and apple trees. The orchard is well known for the taste and flavor of its tree fruit, making its fresh fruit and products sought after. Processing their fruit into premium specialty fruit butter, ciders, and sorbets keeps the farm sustainable. They love what they do, but need help to keep growing this delicious, nutritious, and educational fruit.
Future Fruit Farm lost 1,800 half-gallons of their specialty cider due to a negligent employee at the warehouse where they have freezer space. This economic hit has stopped their ability to pay for the needed additional processing of the remainder of their 2022 harvest. They are impacted by over $22,000 by this loss. This adverse situation has put the farm at risk of not being able to sustain itself. Receiving help would guarantee that they would be able to take the remainder of their apples and pears and process them into non-perishable products. Additional help would also positively impact the farm by allowing spring operating expenses to be covered while they wait for summer business to start back up. The warehouse that made the error admits to their employees' negligence in putting the ciders in the cooler instead of the freezer, but will not offer any monetary reimbursement. The farm's insurance company is stating that the distance from the warehouse to the business address is over what is covered, even though the agent was provided multiple addresses at the time the policy was started.
Ellen and Selena are resilient women who are very passionate about good food! They ask that you consider helping to keep this beautiful, educational & delicious legacy alive. The orchard is a beautiful enchanted place, certainly worth saving. Other ways to help: Purchase a Farmers Market Punch Card (Similar to a CSA, but you get to choose!). Order from their Website www.futurefruitfarm.com. Visit their storefront (The Frozen Local) in Spring Green WI for handmade ice cream, sorbet, and sweet treats. They would be so grateful for any amount of help, even by sharing the fundraiser with others.
