Help Furci Siculo (Ionian Riviera-Sicily-Italy) Recover from Cyclone Harry Disaster
On 1/21/26, a devastating cyclone struck Sicily, leaving many families and businesses in urgent need of help. The storm caused widespread damage, destroying the coastlines, main streets, businesses, and homes, disrupting livelihoods, and leaving the local community facing an uncertain future. In the aftermath, many people are struggling to access basic necessities and begin the long process of recovery.
As many of you know, I'm from Sicily, in particular from a little but picturesque village called Furci Siculo. I am organizing this fundraiser to support the people of Furci as they work to rebuild their lives. The immediate priority is to provide food and essential supplies to those who are assisting in the recovery process. With your support, we can make a difference and help them get back on their feet, ensuring no one will be left behind during this difficult time. If we are able to raise enough, the funds will also go toward repairing local businesses/homes and restoring hope to the community not just in Furci but for the rest of the Riviera.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family. Together, we can help Furci recover and show the community that they are not alone. Thank you! Lory
Update Hello everyone! I was able to get in touch with the local administration in Furci. The reconstruction process has now been taken over by local and regional emergency authorities. For this reason, the funds from this fundraiser will be redirected toward disaster relief rather than meals and provisions.
In addition, as a result of Cyclone Harry, the local administration has created an official bank account. All donations from this fundraiser will be transferred to this account at the end of the campaign.
Please continue to donate and let’s show our Sicilian friends how much we love and support them. Thank you all again!
