Help Fur Babies Cat Cafe Find a New Location

Miss J.La’s Fur Babies Cat Cafe and Adoption Centre is looking for a new location! To make a long story short, our lease is up at our current location and we are looking to secure a new one. We learned of our lease not being renewed in February of this year and have been on the hunt for a new place since. It isn’t easy finding a place to move to with nearly 30 cats in care!

With our owner being immunocompromised, we haven’t been able to operate as usual for the duration of the pandemic, out of an abundance of caution. If she isn’t healthy, we cannot continue to care for our cats. As a result, we are not able to bring in funds in the same ways we did when we were open to the public, pre-pandemic.

As things have been settling down, we anticipate being able to re-open fully to the public once we are able to secure a new location. But to do so, we need your help!

Since 2016 we have been so lucky to have so many supporters make what we do possible. We have been able to focus a lot on rescue over these last two years since being closed to the public and that has been a source of costly vet bills. This year in particular, we have had a lot of vet bills and being a rescue, you don’t get a chance to save money.

So going forward, we are urgently looking to raise funds in phases to secure a location.

First instalment of $10,000, will help cover:

▪️First and last months rent

▪️Moving costs

▪️Permits

▪️Storage unit fees

▪️Cat proofing

Second instalment will involve renovations. We will know all of our needs once we have taken over a new space.

This will be our third location we’ve been at. We are going into this one signing a long term lease. We now know exactly what we need for the future we’ve been planning for the last few years. This space will provide a very exciting environment for all. It will also help us to continue saving kitties.
