Some of you may know me as Jen, some of you may know me as Jeanette. Those who don’t, Hi I’m Jeanette Dunnett (Lockeforte is my pen name). I’m a published author of a book on English Dancing, I’ve taught English dance for 20+ years. This is my passion. I’ve sold 42 copies in several countries now and done something I never thought I could do.

I have turned the page at age 48 and reached the final chapter of my book of life.

I thought I was a breast cancer survivor for the last three years. Recently, I’d been experiencing some neurological symptoms and pains that conservative measures didn’t help with. I ended up going to the hospital and the CT of my brain showed what no one wants to see. Multiple lesions and tumors and other associated markers of that dreaded “C” word were found. MRI confirmed.

A couple of days later, I got a CT of my chest, abdomen and pelvis. Let’s just say this also showed how far the cancer has metastasized. It’s pretty extensive and expected to be terminal. I’m still waiting for the next treatment plan, but let’s be real, it’s likely going to be hospice.

Due to several symptoms, I’ve not been able to work for a while, and I’ve been living off my savings. i have mobility issues due to the level of pain I am in. I’m applying for services such as hospice and disability. I own a small house with a few acres that I’m going to sell after.

However, I have no funds to fix it up and have enough to live off/ pay mortgage/stay caught up with house bills/gas for medical visits. I would like to get my affairs in order and not leave a burden to anyone.

I want to enjoy the time I’ve still got in this house and finish writing my second book. I have to make some modifications to accommodate for a wheelchair ramp and space for my hospital bed and all the accessories that come with a terminal medical diagnosis.

I have several pets I love dearly and need to provide for them as well.

I would like to say I never thought I’d be here asking strangers for help, but here I am. Left with no choice. I worked my whole life to end up here.
