Courtney Rein here, with the **amazing news** that we are hosting our very first in-prison "special event," celebrating two remarkable groups of people at Central California Women's Facility prison in Chowchilla: the Beat Within writers and the incarcerated mentors who work withVoices of Incarceration high school students!

75 people, including 14 Voices of Incarceration high school students, will gather on Saturday May 16th for lunch, small group conversations, and a writing session for The Beat Within, a magazine that publishes incarcerated writers, especially incarcerated youth.

We'll get to have a special catered lunch from Cali Rays deli (way better than regular prison fare), at the tune of $15/box lunch.
