Help FUND 5 Episodes of 'w3b-series'

Donation protected
Hello! This is Bradley Sheen, the director of w3b-series.

WHY: HELP SUPPORT OUR web series aptly titled: 'w3b-series.' We started writing our pilot script in October 2023 and finished filming of the pilot in January. Our incredible team has been working hard pro bono in addition to their day jobs, providing us with production assistant work, score and sound editing, and of course, enthralling acting. The crowdfunding campaign funds will be utilized for production cost for subsequent episodes.

The pilot is done and dusted, we need money for the rest of the 5 episodes.

WHAT: SO WHAT IS IT? w3b-series is concentrated in the contemporary New York milieu, in communities of vapid sentiments and transplants, young people looking for identity and community, in a culture and climate of fear-baiting, contrarianism, lack of money, explosion of media-technology, and precarious housing.

The 6 episodes are the meetings and developments of recurring characters.

Ep 1 - ‘anime cash fest’
Ep 2 - ‘JERSEY DEVIL’
Ep 3 - ‘Cover Band’
Ep 4 - ‘koreatown’
Ep 5 - ‘WRAP PARTY!’
Ep 6 - ‘u-haul it’

Check out our pilot episode here:

'The show is about the obsession to try and tell one’s story. What creates this obsession, what drives it, and then the fallout from it.

People, especially artists, are told to find their voice, their story, something that will authentically replicate who they are, and that you need to find that in order to be a real artist. This is similar to what people experience every day: is this who I am? my real authentic self?, the true person inside of me? We go through the acts and realize here’s what makes us, ‘us’: our jobs, our relationships, the repetition and the daily routine of it all, that’s ‘me,’ or is that just someone who’s doing these things to survive and I’m hiding the real me? Maybe I just got sucked into this and admitted it was okay. Is this my story? Is this even a story worth telling? This is the trail of obsessive thinking

Trevor’s (protagonist) obsession to create a show that ‘tells his story,’ is built this way, and thematically almost all the characters go through this form of obsessive thinking. The show tracks the tenuous friendships and relationships, watching them buckle or strengthen as each character’s obsession continues or ultimately dissolves.'

Meet our team!

WRITER/DIRECTOR - Bradley D. Sheen
Bradley D. Sheen is an emerging Korean-American filmmaker working and living in Brooklyn, New York. He began working on films through archiving Mini-DV tapes. Now concentrating on narrative filmmaking, he is interested in the process of focused collaboration with actors; developing individual expression and depicting their world/ hub/subculture through writing & directing.

PRODUCER - Ji Hye Yoo
Having 13 years of professional experience, Ji Hye is a filmmaker and a Fulbrighter based in Seoul and New York who graduated from the Korea National University of Arts (K-ARTS) and is currently a Film M.F.A. Creative Producing Candidate at Columbia University in the City of New York. Her producing and directing works were screened at several film festivals, including the GwangHwaMun International Short Film Festival and the Seoul International Architecture Film Festival. Notably, Embla, her producing thesis at Columbia, won a production grant from INDIAN PAINTBRUSH, a Hollywood-based company that makes Wes Anderson’s films. Ji Hye is also working with MARKET ROAD FILMS (an independent production based in Brooklyn) as a Korean/English translator for their upcoming title. Through w3b-series and similar projects, Ji Hye aims to specialize in worldwide collaborations and serve as a bridge between filmmakers from diverse backgrounds.

PRODUCER/ACTOR - Trevor Clarkson
I’ve recently embarked on my acting journey after a disparate working background, from restaurants to trail work in national parks and currently bike couriering in NYC. Collaborating with Director Sheen on the w3b-series, I've delved head first into acting, producing, and editing, finding immense gratification. Inspired, I've pursued further training at the Brooklyn Center for Theater Research, discovering a newfound appreciation for the transformative power of acting. Now, I'm driven to deepen my skills of acting and expand further into producing, editing, writing, and directing, eager to continue my career in film.

DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY - Tatiana Gomez
I’m a born and raised New Yorker with an extensive background in live music/event management. After 10 years in the music industry, I’ve pivoted to pursue my passion for filmmaking and currently attend the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema with plans to graduate next year with an MFA in cinematography. My decision to professionally pursue filmmaking has provided the creative outlet I felt lacking in my previous positions; Film has given me the opportunity to combine mediums I’m passionate about like photography, music, and fashion. My professional aspirations include working within the camera department as well as writing and directing my own films.
As a cinematographer, I enjoy working formats, particularly analog film 35mm and experimenting with different analog mediums of film from 35mm to VHS. I’ve had experience shooting music videos, documentaries as well as narrative film across genres in a variety of environments from sound stages to city streets. My greatest pleasure as a DP is being able to bring an idea into fruition on screen, leaning into the challenges that come with composing shots.
I highly value this privilege we get as filmmakers to make our ideas come alive from script to screen and I’m particularly proud to be a Latin woman in an industry where we are underrepresented. I hope to have the ability to create space for Latin women to enter and thrive in the industry while contributing to projects that authentically represent communities outside of those typically represented in film.

COLORIST - Kyungchan Min
I am a freelance colorist based in New York City with five years of experience color grading on DaVinci Resolve.
Born in South Korea and raised in the American South, I found my passion for film and photography early on. After graduating from Swarthmore College in 2018 with a degree in Sociology & Anthropology, I began my career in post production at Alkemy X in Philadelphia. I spent the first year-and-a-half handling color conforms, file-based deliveries, and quality control as a hybrid assistant editor/color assist and another year in supervised and unsupervised sessions as a junior colorist. I then went freelance to pursue a variety of projects both in the color suite and on-set as a cinematographer. In 2022, I began working professionally in New York City.

So as you can see we have quite a powerful team :)
