UPDATE:We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support we have received for our project. All funds raised will go towards the film and honoring our father’s 50 years at Bogie’s. We thank you for your generosity and for believing in our work.

Dearest Friends and Family, many of you have already heard that this May marks 50 years of our father running Bogie’s Liquor. It is an important milestone for dad and an important one for us, as we all grew up in this store, including dad.

We are making a film to commemorate this event in his life and ours. We are not certain how much longer the store will be around, and we want to celebrate and honor our history in the store. We also want to document the unique experience of growing up in a liquor store in Hollywood, CA.

A portion of the film will be shot on Super 8 to capture the history and spirit of the store, and to re-create some of our experiences by casting our children as us. The reason we have created this campaign is to help cover the cost of additional Super 8 film, as it is quite expensive and rare in this digital age.

The sample clip above was made with 8 rolls of film totaling 20 minutes for $900.00. This will give you a sense of the mood it creates.

We would love to be able to film for at least an hour more, and that would require 24 more rolls for an additional ~$3,000k for film and processing.
