UCSB NSU is a student-led organization focused on recognizing, celebrating, and promoting Japanese American culture. NSU Culture Night is our club’s largest annual event, aimed at educating the UCSB community about Japanese American topics. Beyond raising awareness outside our organization, Culture Night also fosters a strong cultural community within NSU. Organized by our incredibly hard-working Culture Night team, the production takes nearly a year to plan, involving extensive budgeting, rehearsing, and coordination. This year, the title and theme of Culture Night is KIBOU, meaning hope. Our main performance features a story based on family, grief, and connecting with one’s own community. With over 60 NSU members contributing to the process, the final production is a collective achievement that aims to bring our larger Asian American community together.
We are seeking donations to help cover the costs involved in putting on this event, including venue fees, technical equipment, set materials, and other production expenses. Our goal for this year's Culture Night is $3,000 raised! Any contributions that can be made will go directly towards funding Culture Night. The Culture Night team and everyone at NSU deeply appreciate your generous support, and we hope that our story speaks to you.
