Help fund two laptops for Hoya refugee freshmen
Donation protected
There are two first-year Georgetown students who need our help. We are hoping our network of Hoya alumni can assist them in their mission to give both students a laptop.
RA and AA are refugees. They are also both brilliant, talented, kind, and strong. Both guys came to Georgetown through the inaugural class of scholars supported through a program run by Duolingo and UNHCR. They both fled their country with their families, lived in India, and applied to Georgetown through the Duolingo x UNHCR program.
AA is in the College of Arts and Sciences and aspires to major in Computer Science. His laptop is so out of date that he is designing code on paper.
RA is in the SFS. He plans to major in STIA. He is passionate about politics, economics, and language study.
Georgetown provided both guys with a full need-based financial aid award. However, the extra stuff like a laptop and clothes are not funded.
(They need 2.5K but updating goal to 2.6K to cover estimated GFM fees of 2.9% of total + 0.30 per donation)
