Help Fund to Publish Matt's Book About His Journey With ALS

For those that visit this page, my name is Matthew Patterson. Many people just call me Matt. I have written a book about my experience(s) with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. My book is titled "The Glass Half Full: Matthew's Story With ALS." I have found a publisher to publish my book. I hope to help others diagnosed with ALS to never give up. If I can make it, others can too. Several people said I should write a book about my experiences. Many people say they want to read it. I created this GoFundMe page because ALS is already expensive on our fixed income (my wife and me) and would be grateful for any donations to help me publish my book. The amount I seek is only the publishing cost.

More about the book follows. Unfortunately, in early 2001 I began to have symptoms of ALS and later that year I was diagnosed with ALS. I was in the prime of my life, only age thirty. So, my book is about the journey I've had since my diagnosis and people that have been along the journey, friends, family, caregivers, and medical providers, such as doctors, nurses, and many various therapists. Also, in addition to seeing how I have been blessed to make it thus far with this illness, there is a chapter about things, such as medical equipment, that I find helpful that may help others going through the same circumstances.
