Fund Required Tools to stay Enrolled in Electrical School

Greetings everyone, Sparky Jackson here!

I didn’t take a straight path to becoming an electrician. Life required me to pivot, regroup, and start again. Choosing to return to trade school was a deliberate decision to build something stable, skill-based, and meaningful with my hands and my mind.

While I’ve been quiet, I’ve been focused. I am currently going to school full-time, fully committed to accelerating my journey in the electrical trade.

I am a single Black woman impacted by the system who has spent much of her life making things work with limited resources while consistently showing up for others and my community. Now, as I enter my second year in the Electrical Program at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC), I am asking for that same support to help me cross the finish line.

The Challenge
The work is real. It is hands-on, demanding, and rewarding. The biggest barrier in front of me right now isn’t effort or commitment; it’s access to the required tools. My third semester begins this February. In the electrical trade, your tools are your lifeline. Without them, I cannot participate in required labs, which puts my enrollment at risk.

As a woman stepping into a traditionally male-dominated trade, I am breaking barriers by showing up prepared, focused, and serious about the work. I have done everything within my power to stay on track. At this point, I need support to continue.

Where the Funds Will Go
This $2,800 will directly cover the required tools and textbooks I need to get started in my third semester, including industry-standard electrical hand tools, fluke meters, safety gear, wire, course-mandated equipment, and required textbooks.

If you’re able to help, whether by donating or sharing, you’re not just helping me buy tools and books. You’re helping me stay on my path, finish what I started, and build a future grounded in skill, independence, and contribution back to the Los Angeles community.

Thank you for seeing me and supporting this next step.
