Help Fund Sam's Thesis Film - The Parting Glass

Hello! I'm Sam Schucker and I am a senior at Brooklyn College. I am in my final steps of receiving my BA in Film Production, but I need your help! I am fundraising for my thesis film, The Parting Glass. The film follows Mey, a 20-something working as a receptionist at a funeral home. After deciding to take on more responsibilities at work, she is faced with the harsh reality that the first service she will be planning is of her high school ex-girlfriend. We see her navigate her unresolved relationship with her ex's family, trying to manage her grief, and keeping professional.

Growing up, some of my favorite movies centered around the ideas of grief and family, like My Girl and Bridge to Terabithia. It only felt right to explore such themes in my thesis film! This movie has been in the works for four years and I am so excited to have it come to life. With your generous contributions, I will be able to secure the perfect location, feed my crew, pay my actors, and so many other things that go into making any movie a reality.
