Help Fund the Making of "Begin Again"
Donation protected
We are getting ready to begin production on a short film "Begin Again", and need to raise some funds to ensure production goes smoothly. All donations will go towards Production and Post-Production costs - feeding our cast and crew, equipment, editing, music licensing, and festival submissions to name a few.
Due to the subject matter of this film, I want to ensure we do the story justice.
In short, Begin Again is about a married couple that find themselves struggling in their relationship due to an untimely loss.
Over the course of a non-linear year, we follow Olivia and Alex through the traumatic loss of their daughter that challenges their marriage. We see them celebrate their highs and wrestle with their lows, as they try to navigate this uncharted territory. Finding that they have a hard time communicating their mutual heartbreak, and eventual readiness to move on, causes them to go head to head over the decision to try for another baby and begin again.
This is a story that I started developing in 2019, and have been working on since. Before I began writing the script, I sat down with several individuals who had experienced pregnancy loss in some capacity. Their stories of heartbreak and healing were the foundation for this story. And this only scratches the surface.
In a post-Roe society, the themes explored in "Begin Again" take on an even greater relevance and urgency. The film delves into the profound personal impact of fertility struggles and pregnancy loss, highlighting the emotional and physical toll these experiences have on women and families. In a time when reproductive rights and healthcare access are increasingly restricted, the story of Olivia and her journey resonates deeply with the current struggles faced by many. "Begin Again" not only sheds light on the challenges and heartache of pregnancy trauma but also underscores the importance of compassion, understanding, and support for those navigating these difficult paths. This film serves as a poignant reminder of the real, human stories behind the political debates, advocating for empathy and change in a society grappling with the consequences of reduced reproductive freedoms.
We appreciate any assistance that we can get, and we can't wait to wrap this project and share it with you all!
