Thomas suffered a traumatic brain injury on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Feeling lightheaded and dizzy, he clocked out at work and waited outside for his wife, Toni, to pick him up. Before she arrived, he lost consciousness and fell backwards from a standing position, hitting the back of his head on the concrete.
Thomas is currently in the Neuroscience ICU at the University of Cincinnati. At this time, his prognosis is unknown. He has been on a ventilator since he arrived at the hospital on August 15, 2021. His brain is bruised and bleeding. Due to the mounting swelling and pressure on his brain, a craniectomy was preformed on August 19, 2021. The removal of a portion of the skull may help to relieve the severe swelling in his brain.
At this time Thomas' needs include continued acute care at the University of Cincinnati, care at the long-term facility until he is able to transition to rehabilitation center.
We are praying for a return to a normal life for Thomas. However, money I'd needed to pay for hospital expenses, care in a facility with skilled nursing, expert therapies in a rehabilitation center as well as continued living expenses for his wife and daughter.
Thomas is a man who works hard to support his family, and has raised 3 girls with his wife Toni. At this time, we are asking for donations on their behalf to help with this upcoming financial burden. Thank you for your support.
